THE WHERE: We are looking for Denver, Colorado-based individuals…hybrid setup, with a shared office space in Denver. Amazing candidates from Indianapolis, IN will also be considered, but Denver is preferred. If you check ALL of the boxes and live in a metro area (close to an airport), we’d be open to a conversation, but Denver, CO candidates will be our target.
THE WHO: Our client is an established market research firm that specializes in home improvement and building products. They’ve been a boutique leader in the space for the last 35+ years…trusted for their customized market research solutions and results that support greater progress, profitability, and solutions for their clients. Their clients include Lowes, Home Depot Kohler, Pella, Behr, Sherwin Williams, Stanley, Toro, and more. Plus, in this role, you’ll have the opportunity to close on even more incredible brands in the space.
THE HOW: You’ll be a closer…the confident, subject-matter expert who knows more about asking the right questions than coming up with the right sales pitch. In this role, you’re more of a consultant than a salesperson…helping industry leaders devise the right market research strategies (surveys, analysis, focus groups, differentiating data sets, customized insights, and more) so that they can outperform their competitors and markets. You’ll be a partner, an advocate, and a proactive guide. You won’t be selling off-the-shelf products either…your competitive difference is all about custom solutions and custom consultations.
THE MUST HAVES: We’re looking for candidates who have the following 4 key pieces and experiences. 1) Research-based client work. 2) Sales (and account management) experience. 3) Intellect. This is a BIG one. 4) Experience in the building products and home improvement industry.
After this, we’re looking for people with experience with HubSpot (or a similar CRM), LinkedIn (you’ll be posting and establishing yourself as a subject matter expert), a conference and speaker pro (attending, presenting, networking), and someone that matches their culture and values (people first, pride, continuous improvement, and a guide).
THE NUTS & BOLTS: Base comp package of $125,000-140,000, plus 5-8% commissions. Expected OTE of $180-190k in the first year. Uncapped potential and ability to earn $300k plus through their growth plan and expectations in this role. The Client Growth Manager is a hugely dynamic and vital role in this team. Not only is it at the forefront and intersection of every aspect within the company (working with clients, key stakeholders, and cross-collaborating across the organization), it’s a domino-effect role that will lead our client through their next generation of growth…and in support of some wonderfully challenging goals over the next 5 years of doubling revenue and growing from 20-30 employees.
YOUR DNA
Guide: You love to guide, advise, question, lead, support, navigate, and help clients. Sure - you’re closing clients and deals. We’ll be looking for these traits too. More so though, you are consulting and leading clients to the right solutions and endpoints. As such, you spend more time getting to know your clients and their needs over anything else and your success is dependent on customized, unique, and client-driven solutions vs an ability to sell a bunch of all-in-one or off-the-shelf data solutions.
Strategy: You excel at navigating, driving, and maximizing growth, sales cycle metrics, and strategic campaigns through goal setting, roadmaps, synthesizing information to teams, and guiding clients to successful solutions.
Winners Mindset: You are competitive, you love to win, hate complacency, and will do what it takes to succeed, putting in the extra hours, finding victory after failures, and navigating the ship with poise, resilience, and grit.
Autonomous & Driven: You'll need to be independent and self-motivated, running your client work as an owner. This role needs a doer…someone ready to step in immediately with a strategic mindset and proactive strategies to help drive this next level of growth and company direction.
Industry Expert: you come from the market insight world, you are the subject matter expert in the space (bonus points if that space is home improvement and building products), your network includes CMO’s, Marketing Directors, Channel Directors, Research Teams, and Insights Managers, and you have the confidence, drive, and intentionality to build upon your market presence through thought leadership, client guidance, trade show and conference networking and presentations, and continuing education.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of experience in service, sales, and market research roles
Research-based client work
Sales (and account management) experience
Intellect
Experience in the building products and home improvement industry.
HubSpot (or a similar CRM)
LinkedIn (you’ll be posting and establishing yourself as a subject matter expert)
Conference and trade shows (attending, presenting, networking)
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Client-Work: working with clients, networking, guiding needs, closing deals, bridging gaps, contributing to the customer experience, and supporting customized and boutique solutions
Industry Presence: staying on top of industry trends and news, leading thought-provoking industry ideas, and being at the forefront of the space
Team Collaboration: working across the team and with key stakeholders to ensure your client’s customized solutions are being executed and successfully delivered
Proposals: developing and responding to proposals to maximize opportunities and achieve sales goals
Closing Gaps: doing what is needed to close the gap for clients and the team…navigating challenges, identifying stop gaps and opportunities, and delivering feedback, and producing solutions to ensure successful campaigns
Closing Deals: this is the crux of the role…you’ll be leading the charge to close clients, deals, and custom solutions for existing and new clients
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base comp package of $125,000-140,000, plus 5-8% commissions. Expected OTE of $180,000 - 190,000 in the first year. Uncapped potential and ability to earn $300,000+ through their growth plan and expectations in this role in the coming years.
