THE COMPANY & TEAM

Our client is one of the top restoration and reconstruction companies in the US, operating in nearly 400 different independent markets. The market and office for this Head of Reconstruction role - New York and New Jersey - is not only one of their largest territories, it has one of the highest potentials across their footprint.

Even better - it is in an industry that truly serves its community. The restoration and reconstruction industry comes alongside business and commercial entities during unexpected hard days - floods, fires, mold, and more. Imagine a restaurant kitchen fire that closes the business and 50 employees are now temporarily out of work. Or a family that experiences a broken pipe that floods their house and displaces them to a hotel. These are just a few of the examples of how our client steps in and serves their communities with steadfast and heartfelt service through innovative solutions and approaches, and all-inclusive support to get people back in business and back home.

As a true people-first organization, their mission is to first serve others. As such, the core values of kindness, compassion, care, service, social purpose, and family ring true to their ethos and actions in the everyday operations of the business and with clients.

Amidst a period of significant expansion, the company is looking for a seasoned professional to help build and grow the commercial side of their business.  Since this team will be part of building a new business vertical in commercial property, you’ll be in a startup-like environment leading with ideas, foundational systems, and structures, and launching their next level of growth in this market.

A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A MOTIVATED, MISSION-MINDED, & PEOPLE-FIRST LEADER

This office has an opportunity to realize huge potential and hyper-growth through its focus on the commercial side of the business. The residential side is growing as well, but this New York/New Jersey market is one of the largest commercial bases in the country. It is ripe for people ready to roll up their sleeves, see the opportunities from all angles, and push, progress, cultivate, mature, and breed success. That’s why we’re looking for you!

YOUR DNA

  • You’ve got your hand in all the pots…managing people, projects, ideas, systems, and change. You’re the head coach, the person everyone depends on and taps into. You’re proactive…and reactive. You’re keeping everything in check, making sure things run smoothly, you get the team motivated, and you’re the glue that keeps everything and everyone together.

  • The construction/reconstruction industry is unique - and you love it, you know it, you’ve lived it, understand the complexities of it, and you embrace all the good, bad, and uglies of the industry.

  • You thrive independently, have the moxie and ambition to pursue AND execute on strategies, and do what it takes to lead a team to successful outcomes.

  • You are a strategist, an independent thinker, vision caster, and someone that builds the playbook, calls the plays, and leads the team to the win.

  • While individually driven, your success is dependent on deep relationships with your team, customers, partners, and those around you. This includes building foundational relationships based on trust, active listening, accountability, and common goals.

  • You are competitive, you love to win, hate complacency, working hard just comes naturally, and you do what it takes to succeed, putting in the extra hours, finding victory after failures, and navigating the ship with poise, resilience, and grit.

  • You know that managing people can be challenging. It can get messy. It can be stressful. You can’t always solve every problem. It is based on making strong relationships and having stronger expectations. And you’ll need to crack some eggs to make the omelet. As such, you’re not just confident - you are ready, willing, and anxious for a role like this to lead a team and company to success with some big goals and bigger futures.
