QUICK OVERVIEW - TL;DR (please read this section to ensure your fit before applying)

Our recruiting firm specializes in sports-based companies – this client is a growing golf company in the health & fitness space. They are the official fitness tool of the PGA, they have some of golf’s biggest names behind the brand, and are at an inflection point of growth

During this phase of growth, we are looking for a strong Marketing Technology Operations Consultant to lead and manage the marketing operations needs across their martech platforms.

Our client is primarily looking for a consultant and contract setup - the role is best designed for someone on a contract basis and around 30-hours per week.

THE MUST HAVES: 5+ years of experience managing the marketing operations efforts of a brand and app, including email marketing, customer journey management, LTV, user experience, customer funnels, referral programs, memberships, subscriptions, and engagement.

Marketing operations experience with a technical physical product that is tied to an app experience. Bonus if it is in a sports-based product. As such, we're looking for people who come from the worlds of Peloton, Strava, iFit, Tonal, Whoop, Hydrow, etc. You don't HAVE to come from one of these brands, but we are looking for people who understand the marketing operation dynamics of these sorts of brand and app experiences.

Experience with key marketing technology platforms - including any of the following: Customer.io, HubSpot, Salesforce, Klaviyo, etc.

A true doer and get stuff done action taker...the marketing team is small and everyone is heavily involved and relied upon to step up with pure excellence and execution in their roles. Especially in this role, you'll be in the trenches, with your sleeves rolled up, getting dirty in the nuts and bolts of the marketing operations, and will be leaned on to lead your role with excellence, accountability, and success.

THE WHY: A fast-growing golf brand with a rabid user base of golf pros (including some of the top players on tour) and thousands of users across the world. You will be tasked to deliver, measure, and manage their marketing operations across platforms.

THE WHERE: This is a remote role and team…they are currently spread across the US, but you’ll get to work with an amazing team of driven leaders, ambitious people, athletes, endorsers, and health-minded people. Since many on their team are remote, this candidate must be experienced in a remote culture – including communicating with teams and working collaboratively across departments remotely.

THE WHO: Our client is quickly becoming one of the top golf tools in the game. The company was created by PGA Tour doctors and trainers to provide golfers with the same workout and recovery programs as the best players in the world.

Today, it is used by over 400 PGA and LPGA pros, and an ever-growing consumer user base that is tapping into these systems and programs to gain strength, flexibility, and mobility.  Not only is it backed by the PGA and endorsed by some of golf’s biggest players, but they’ve also been featured in places like Sports Illustrated, Golf.com, Golf Figest, Netflix’s Full Swing, and more. This has helped them land new investments in the company allowing them to grow their team, goals, and market.

The team is talented, hungry, bright, and driven…and they’re growing. And now they need an incredible Marketing Technology Operations Manager. As their CEO put it to us…”we have an excellent product that is highly effective and beloved by its users…the challenge for our efforts is balancing the e-commerce needs, education, and outreach with both a physical product and an app. It’s a lot of angles and a lot of moving pieces…but with this role, we need to find someone who can make it all seamless, effective, and hyper-growth driven.”

THE NUTS & BOLTS: Our client is primarily looking for a consultant and contract setup - the role is best designed for someone on a contract basis and around 30-hours per week.

Per a contract basis, there will be a package of $7,000-$8,000 per month ($72,000 - $84,000/year) plus bonus opportunities.

For the right candidate after 6-12 months (and/or as the workload is built up), they are willing to entertain full-time employment status and a benefits package with Medical Benefits, 401k Matching, PTO, and Wellness & Lifestyle Benefits.

See the full job description below for a full review of the role, responsibilities, requirements, and compensation package.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is an experienced marketing operations executor with a successful track record in customer relationship management, customer growth, journey management, and user satisfaction.

YOUR DNA

  • First and foremost, you are a killer marketer and a subject matter expert in marketing operations…you get the process, the efficiencies, the systems, and the customer, their habits, their wants, their goals, their dislikes, their pains, and more.

  • Just as importantly, you bring a background in marketing operations within a brand and app experience. Yes…we love meeting pros in SaaS, service-based businesses, etc. - but ultimately, we are looking for someone outside of these areas and with direct experience working with a product that is also tied to an app experience.

  • You are self-motivated, have a results-driven mindset, and have a relentless enthusiasm for expanding product reach to new and existing users and segments.

  • You are a doer, an enthusiast, a passionate marketer, and someone who knows how to test, iterate, and navigate success. We are NOT looking for a “yes-person” or just another cog in the marketing machine…instead you are a subject matter expert that isn’t afraid to drive new initiatives and see results through grit, creativity, and engineering marketing processes.

  • You love the startup space and have built brands and understand the complexities of driving customer growth and becoming a brand leader in its space.

  • You are a goal setter with a growth mindset and push yourself and your team to achieve BIG goals. This includes having a winning spirit, a history of achieving great results, and an ambition to execute on collective goals and outcomes.

  • While individually driven, your success is dependent on deep relationships with your teammates, customers, partners, coaches, and those around you. This includes building foundational relationships based on trust, active listening, accountability, and common goals.

  • This is a golf company and brand, so let's use a golf analogy to get all those marketing pros that love golf excited about this opportunity!

    • You will use all the clubs in your bag to score on the course – you know when to go big, when to show finesse, when to lay-up, and when the sink a big putt to keep yourself in the game. In other words, you attack the market with big ideas and bigger execution, you value the importance of quality and tact, you are smart and effective when taking chances, and you know how to win when it matters most.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Any experience in one or any of the following martech platforms:

  • 5+ years of experience managing marketing technology operations, including customer journey management, LTV, email marketing, user experience, customer funnels, referral programs, memberships, subscriptions, and engagement.

  • High-level marketing technology operations experience with a technical physical product that is tied to an app experience.

    • Bonus if it is in a sports based product. As such, we're looking for people that comes from the worlds of Peloton, Strava, iFit, Tonal, Whoop, Hydrow, etc. You don't HAVE to come from one of these brands, but we are looking for people that understand the customer retention dynamics of these sorts of brands.

  • A true doer and get stuff done action taker...the marketing team is small and everyone is heavily involved and relied upon to step up with pure excellence and execution in their roles. Especially in this role, you'll be in the trenches, with your sleeves rolled up, getting dirty in the nuts and bolts of their marketing solutions.

  • Deep understanding of omni-channel businesses and customer journeys across DTC channels.

  • Effective collaborator with cross-functional partners, including creatives, product managers, and data analysts.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
