Our client is a locally-owned and operated company with decades of experience supporting Colorado clients with roofing needs, including roof inspections, total roof replacement, green roofing, commercial and residential roofing, and roofing repairs. They are currently experiencing a massive growth phase and are now in search of a VP of Finance to round out their executive team and help lead the charge on this next generation of growth.

THE WHERE: They are based in Denver – and operate throughout Colorado – to support commercial clients across the state. This is an office based role. Only candidates within a 30 minute commute to Denver, or willing to relocate, will be considered.


THE WHO: Our client works with a variety of commercial, and some residential, clients across Colorado. They are Denver’s top metal roofing company and TPO roofing installer. They support a variety of projects, including businesses, multi-family buildings, green and cool roof solutions, maintenance programs, new construction, large loss claims, and more. Their focus and expertise in commercial roofing sets them apart and has created a huge opportunity for continued growth and success in this market.


THE HOW: As the VP of Finance, you will be leading the organization and its growth strategy as the financial leader. You will build out your accounting team and lead the charge to support the financial health of the company…including all finance and accounting functions, budgeting, reporting and forecasting, tax filings, compliance, risk management, and more. While the company has been around for nearly 10 years, they are elevating the organization to the next levels through funding and growth and need the right financial leader to support its goals.


This position offers a competitive base salary of $165,000-175,000 annually and bonus (expected OTE of $205-225k), plus benefits and additional perks such as unlimited PTO, an expense account, company laptop, cell phone, company apparel, and an annual profit share.


THE MUST HAVES: You are a true financial leader with a track record of success in your career helping companies with significant growth arcs. We are looking for individuals with experience in capital fundraising, building financial systems, successful exits, GAAP compliance, Sage Accounting Software, and the moxie, leadership, and boldness to lead alongside the executive team in execution of its strategies and growth plans.

This has helped them grow over the last decade and navigate this next level of strategic growth in the market.


Currently, the company has a close-knit team, but the goal is for the VP of Finance to lead it’s growth expansion with personnel, systems, and financial operations. This expansion will provide you with the opportunity to build and lead a team, ensuring they are aligned with the company's goals and objectives…and driving the future of this company.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll need a decade of experience in similar financial leadership roles with a passion for managing the overall financial strategy, financial operations, team members, stakeholders, distributor relationships, and networks. The ideal candidate is going to step in on day 1 with vigor to build, mold, revise, improve, strategize, and systematically lead the organizational financial goals.

  • Construction / Roofing Industry: You have a passion, understanding, and/or experience in construction, roofing, or a similarly adjacent industry…and understand the unique market dynamics of the space.

  • Executing Strategy: You excel at navigating, driving, and maximizing revenue growth, revenue cycle metrics, and strategic financial campaigns through strategic goal setting, financial roadmaps, synthesizing financial information to teams, and delegating others to success.

  • Financial Operations Ownership: You are motivated and driven through an ownership of end to end revenue: setting strategy & building the operating mechanism across pre and post business teams (Marketing, Sales, Partner Growth) to align with the business goals and objectives.

Outside of the DNA above, the right candidate will come with…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or other Business-related field; Master’s degree preferred, but not required.

  • 10+ years’ experience as a financial manager, such as a VP of Finance, CFO, Controller, or Director of Finance, preferably in construction, with experience in M&A models

  • CPA or CMA designation is desirable, but not required.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Lead the company’s strategic planning and operational finance activities that enable increasing company efficiencies, optimization, and scalability by overseeing the entire Finance and accounting functions.

  • Develop/refine, implement, and manage financial reporting and forecasting systems and formats that capture the critical elements of the business segments, along with key financial metrics necessary for successful management.

  • Oversee budgeting and financial forecasting, cash flow forecasting, and coordination of audit activities.

  • Establish and document policy and procedures related to financial matters.

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting requirements, registrations, and tax filings.

  • Interface with banks and outside accounting partners to optimize relationships and improve business conditions.

  • Provide leadership in coordination and optimization of treasury management across all companies.

  • Lead risk management efforts including the creation of proper internal controls and systems, analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments and evaluation and negotiation of bonding.

  • Review insured and self-insured programs for adequate coverage and cost effectiveness; oversee the authorship of specifications and request for proposals for purchase of and negotiation of insurance contracts as well as maintain relationships with insurance brokers.

  • Implements policies and procedures for purchasing and contract management.

  • Lead and coordinate efforts with General Council as it relates to legal concerns.

  • Evaluate building budgets at the beginning of each fiscal year in conjunction and cooperation with every division.

  • Review and approve all documentation being forwarded to a taxing authority including but not limited to: DOR, L&I, Employment Security, various municipalities and other taxing agencies

  • Direct Information Technology functions, including the establishment of strategic initiatives and goals.

Our client offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $150-200k, along with profit sharing.
