QUICK OVERVIEW - TL;DR (please read this section to ensure your fit before applying)
Our client is hiring for a VP of People & Organizational Excellence. This is a big role and need for our client - and as such, this vital role will encompass a large responsibility of leading the people, HR, talent, and organizational behavior side of the organization.
THE WHO: Our client is a leader in the restoration and reconstruction space with nearly 400 offices serving residential, institutional, and commercial customers and clients across the United States and Canada. For over 50 years, our client has served their communities in their time of need when facing disaster.
THE WHAT: You will be a leader for the company, and its team members, across the US & Canada. We are looking for a true visionary, leader, strategist, change agent, and mission-minded driver to lead all organizational/people strategies, systems, and networks. Because of the nature of the industry, job hierarchies, and branch networks, this leader will be challenged with developing organizational change across the company as a whole and the unique cultures of each specific branch, group, and team units.
MUST HAVES: We are in search of a transformational leader with a background in organizational behavior, people, TA, HR, and strategy. You will bring a strong mix of experience leading organizational strategies aimed at hiring, training, retention/turnover, employee engagement and health, employee development tracks, inclusion, HR systems, compliance, and more. If it will help teams grow, thrive, and be successful, then you’ll be at the helm!
We are also looking for people with a background of working through both a corporate-level team along with individual branches located throughout the US. This may include service-based businesses (plumbing, construction, cleaning, etc.), hospitality or food & beverage (restaurant groups, hotels, etc.), or any other business that has over 50 branch locations in addition to a headquartered office/team.
THE WHY: The reconstruction and restoration industry is in a truly unique sector. It is growing, stable, recession-proof, and strong - yet it also helps come alongside homeowners, property owners, and communities during incredibly hard times/disasters - floods, fires, mold, emergencies, and accidents. As such, everyone involved in the organization has the chance to touch the community with care, service, and a phoenix-like mentality to get people back in their homes and businesses.
THE WHERE: While our client has branches across the US and Canada, it is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. As such, we are specifically targeting candidates located in Jacksonville, in neighboring cities in Florida, or within a half-day drive. Those willing to relocate are also considered and will include relocation assistance. This is a hybrid work setup. There are no hard expectations for the number of days in the office, but the executive team is looking for leaders nearby to meet on a regular cadence and on an as-needed basis without the strain of travel or virtual call environments. Travel to branches across the country will also be needed to properly understand, lead, and integrate key strategies.
THE HOW: There are three key strategic initiatives that this person will be initially tasked with: 1) Deployment of Central HR Services to all partnership branch locations to ensure a level of compliance and support. 2) Training and Education of all People Managers on how to better manage and inspire their teams. 3) Development and implementation of paths to team members to grow their careers within the organization.
THE NUTS & BOLTS: Comp range is a base of $150,000 - 170,000 plus a strong bonus structure. Strong benefits package is also included with Medical Benefits, 401k, PTO, and much more.

A CAREER-DEFINING OPPORTUNITY FOR A MOTIVATED, THOUGHTFUL, & VISIONARY LEADER
YOUR DNA
You are a people-first and transformational business leader. A strategist, a coach, an independent thinker, vision caster, and someone that builds the playbook, calls the plays, and leads the team to the win.
You come to the executive table with insight, intelligence, strategy, confidence, and strong direction. You don’t need to be the loudest or the smartest (and if anything, that would be a detriment in this culture), but you do need to lead with conviction, poise, accountability, and moxie.
You bring a “roll up your sleeves” mentality and work ethic. You love and thrive getting into the weeds and navigating success with the proverbial blood, sweat, and tears of seeing a strategy through to success.
You are in the people and culture business - and this runs deep into your DNA. You build partnerships, you know how to drive people to success, get buy-in from key stakeholders, lead with character and significance, and get teams to perform to their full potential.
You have a strong understanding of the entire talent and people ecosystem and how to deliver results in retention, hiring, training, development, and successful employee engagement, satisfaction, and tenure.
You bring a mixture of heart, passion, and soul combined with an analytical, systematic, policy-driven, and compliance-led mindset to deliver results. You understand that it takes this mixture to deliver true long-term results and impactful change.
You’ve read, love, and live by strategies and books like Who, The Culture Code, Radical Candor, Leaders Eat Last, Talent Magnet, Dare to Lead, Delivering Happiness, and more. And you’ll come to the table with ideas, strategies, principles, and systems that you’ve learned, tested, and succeeded with.
