  • With multiple branches across the region and part of a network of over 300 independently owned locations, they help residential, commercial, and industrial clients recover from water, fire, mold, and storm damage.


THE WHAT: 

  • You will lead the day-to-day accounting operations while also supporting essential HR functions. 

  • This dual role requires someone who can toggle between detailed financial analysis and employee-focused initiatives.


MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA preferred)

  • 6+ years of financial reporting experience with 3+ years of supervisory experience

  • Strong GAAP knowledge and experience with financial software/ERP systems

  • HR generalist experience or strong interest in HR functions

  • Experience managing a team (will oversee 5-6 direct reports)

  3. Create and maintain scalable systems that can support the organization's continued growth trajectory


THE NUTS & BOLTS: 

  • Competitive salary range of $70,000-$100,000 based on experience.

As the Assistant Controller, you will manage both the financial reporting functions and support human resources initiatives. This dual role requires someone who can maintain accurate financial records while also supporting the human capital needs of a growing organization.

THE DAY TO DAY

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including GL maintenance, reconciliations, and journal entries

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Support internal and external audits

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff

  • Implement accounting system improvements


HR Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment and onboarding processes

  • Assist with benefits administration and compliance

  • Handle employee relations tasks

  • Maintain employee records and HRIS systems

  • Support performance management processes

  • Assist with payroll administration

  • Help develop and implement HR policies and procedures


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)

  • CPA preferred

  • 6+ years of financial reporting experience

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience

  • HR generalist experience or strong interest in HR functions


Competencies and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems

  • Excellence in Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level of organization and attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Experience in process improvement and system implementation
