QUICK OVERVIEW - TL;DR (please read this section to ensure your fit before applying)
Our client is seeking a President/General Manager for their branch opportunity in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This is a career-defining role where you'll step in as the leader to transform an established restoration business into a flagship Canadian operation.
THE WHO: Our client is a leading North American restoration and reconstruction company with a proven track record of serving communities in their time of greatest need. For over 50 years, they have built their reputation on exceptional service delivery during disasters - floods, fires, mold, and emergencies.
THE WHAT: This is not a traditional GM role. You are the Business Transformer - the visionary leader who will take the helm of an established operation and methodically upgrade its systems, instill a culture of accountability, and drive profitable growth in Canada's most resilient market.
MUST HAVES: We are searching for a proven business builder with full P&L responsibility for a $5M+ operation. You must have experience in restoration, construction, or service-based industries with blue-collar workforces. Change management experience is critical - you've led teams through mergers, acquisitions, or major transformations.
THE WHY: This is your chance to build a legacy. You're not a caretaker - you're an architect. You'll honor the existing team's foundation while methodically transforming it into a market-dominating operation that sets the standard for excellence in Western Canada.
THE WHERE: Winnipeg, Manitoba - a stable, mature market built on relationships and operational consistency. This role requires travel across the operation and occasional travel for corporate alignment and strategy sessions.
THE HOW: Your mission is clear: protect the base while upgrading everything.
Three key strategic initiatives will define your success:
Cultural Integration & Team Transformation - Build bridges from the old to the new, re-recruit top talent, and instill a culture of accountability while honoring the legacy of the existing operation.
Operational Excellence & System Implementation - Methodically introduce world-class operating systems, from job management technology to financial reporting and CRM integration, ensuring seamless adoption across all teams.
Market Penetration & Strategic Growth - Shift from reactive insurance work to proactive commercial relationships, building a sales engine that dominates mid-market opportunities where agility beats size.
THE NUTS & BOLTS: Base salary range of $130,000 - $150,000 CAD plus significant performance-based bonus structure tied directly to EBITDA generation. Total expected compensation of $180,000 - $220,000+ with uncapped upside.

THE COMPANY & TEAM
Our client is a market-leading restoration and reconstruction company with a 50+ year legacy of serving communities across North America. They are masters of turning disaster into opportunity - helping families and businesses rebuild after floods, fires, mold, and emergencies.
This acquisition represents their strategic entry into the Canadian market through Winnipeg - a city built on resilience, relationships, and operational consistency. Unlike high-growth "boomtown" markets, Winnipeg rewards methodical excellence and authentic community connections.
The restoration industry here is driven by predictable, cyclical weather patterns: devastating winters with pipe bursts and ice damming, spring floods, and severe summer storms. This creates a stable revenue base that rewards operational excellence over flashy marketing.
A CAREER-DEFINING OPPORTUNITY FOR A MOTIVATED, TENACIOUS, & TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADER
YOUR DNA
You are a Business Builder - an operational maestro, financial strategist, and cultural architect rolled into one. You don't manage the status quo; you execute transformations.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive on challenge. You see a P&L statement not as a report card, but as a set of levers to be pulled for maximum performance.
You are an Integrator-Operator who excels at taking the components of a business—people, process, finance, and strategy—and forging them into a high-performing, cohesive unit. You're equally comfortable analyzing financial statements in the boardroom and walking job sites with technicians.
You bring empathetic and resilient leadership. You can connect with and earn the trust of a skeptical, long-tenured team. You are calm under pressure, firm but fair, and lead from the front without fear of getting your hands dirty.
You are financially and data literate. You live by the numbers and speak fluently about gross margins, EBITDA, labor efficiency, job profitability, and cash flow conversion. You see the story behind the numbers and know exactly which levers to pull.
You have unquestionable integrity. In the restoration industry, trust is everything. You are the standard-bearer for ethical conduct, both internally with your team and externally with clients and partners.
You understand that this is not about being the loudest or smartest in the room. Success comes from conviction, poise, accountability, and the moxie to build something extraordinary from a solid foundation.
You've read, love, and live by strategies from books like Good to Great, The Culture Code, Radical Candor, Leaders Eat Last, and Dare to Lead. You come to the table with ideas, strategies, principles, and systems that you've learned, tested, and succeeded with.
