Jombine is partnering with a rapidly growing industry leader to identify their next Controller. 


THE WHO: 

  • Our client is a leader in their industry (construction, property services) serving Tri-County Pennsylvania through multiple branch locations. 

  • This company has expanded to $40M+ in revenue over the past five years, and this position will be integral in leading the finance team through its next phase of growth while implementing new systems and processes.


THE WHAT: 

  • As Controller, you will lead all financial operations and analysis while working directly with the CEO and executive team. 

  • This role combines hands-on financial management with strategic leadership, requiring someone who can both execute day-to-day responsibilities and provide insights that drive operational improvements.


MUST HAVES: 

  • The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen along with exceptional communication and leadership abilities. 

  • Experience with SAGE accounting software is preferred, as is background in construction, manufacturing, or service-based industries. 

  • Most importantly, you must be a doer - someone who can both lead a team and roll up their sleeves to ensure work gets done.

THE WHERE: 

  • This is an in-office-based position in the West Philadelphia Greater Metro Area.

  • The role requires being present in the office five days per week. Candidates should be within a 45-60 minute commute of the office.


THE HOW: 

There are three key strategic initiatives that this person will be initially tasked with:

  1. Implementing and optimizing new financial systems, including SAGE, AP processes, and credit card management

  2. Developing robust financial analysis and reporting that identifies operational improvement opportunities

  3. Building and leading an effective finance team while establishing efficient processes across AR, AP, and payroll functions


THE NUTS & BOLTS: 

  • Base compensation range is $130,000-150,000 plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, PTO, and more. 

  • Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Controller will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company's financial operations while providing strategic insights to drive business improvement. This includes:


Financial Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead, develop, and manage the finance team including AR/AP staff

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies

  • Provide analytical insights that drive operational improvements

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains

  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and processes


Day-to-Day Operations:

  • Oversee monthly financial close process and statement preparation

  • Manage cash flow and treasury functions

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of AR/AP

  • Lead implementation of new SAGE accounting system

  • Oversee payroll processing and compliance

  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation


Team Leadership:

  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team

  • Create clear processes and accountability measures

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement

  • Partner effectively with other department leaders

  • Provide regular reporting and updates to the executive team


Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of accounting/finance experience with 5+ years in controller or similar role

  • Experience leading and developing teams

  • Strong systems knowledge including SAGE (preferred)

  • Background in service-based, construction, or manufacturing industries

  • Experience with high-growth companies preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • CPA preferred but not required
