Our client is hiring a Director of Sales.


Our recruiting firm specializes in sports-based companies – this specific client is a growing and unique golf brand. This leadership role is a huge opportunity to step into a key role in leading this brand to the next level. 


You’ll be responsible for driving sales strategy, campaigns, and initiatives to support their growth plan in the years ahead. You will also lead a small sales team, work collaboratively with marketing teams, operations, and other key leaders and functions to push, pull, and navigate the challenges of growing a brand in a crowded space.


THE MUST HAVES:

  • 10+ years of experience building omnichannel brands through performance marketing, e-commerce, DTC, retail, and affiliate channels.

  • A passion for sports, golf, and athletes (the professional and the everyday athlete). A passion for health and wellness.

  • High-level sales experience with a technical physical product (not just SaaS, online, or service based brands/companies).

  • You have a passion for leading and driving ambitious sales goals, have a successful track record of building out strategic plans and initiatives, drive results through sales systems, KPI’s, and modern approaches & technology, and are a true visionary who can bring a blend of sales leadership and savvy to this growing company.


THE WHY:

THE WHERE:

  • Most of the team is remote, though key members are based in Nashville, TN. Based in (or willing to relocate to) Nashville is ideal, but we are open to anywhere in the US for the right candidate.

  • Since many on their team are remote, this candidate must be experienced in a remote culture – including leading teams and working collaboratively across departments remotely.


THE WHO:

  • Our client is a leading golf tool, used by athletes across the country - from PGA and LPGA tour players to casual golfers. They’ve been in a massive growth phase, VC-backed, and driving towards their next generation of growth.


THE HOW:

  • The Director of Sales will be tasked to lead this next generation of growth…including building and leading the sales team, driving the sales initiatives across DTC, e-commerce, product, distribution and retail channels, and more.

  • Comp range is $150,000-175,000. Additional opportunities for bonus and equity. Strong benefits package is also included with Medical Benefits, 401k Matching, PTO, and Wellness & Lifestyle Benefits.

Our client is quickly becoming one of the most trusted golf tools in the space…used by hundreds of pros and thousands of users. Their brand is found across e-commerce (native site, Amazon, and more), retail (Dick’s, PGA stores, and pro shops), and at some of Golf’s biggest events/tour stops.


A young, growing, scrappy, and incredibly bright team is leading the charge as they push through this next level of growth. They are true A-Players and athletically minded business leaders – with backgrounds in some of golf’s and sporting goods top brand names – all driven to the mission of growing this brand into one of the top golf products in the space. As a result, they’re rowing fast in the same direction and now just need the right Sales Leader to direct the boat to the next horizon.


A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A MOTIVATED, TENACIOUS, & AMBITIOUS LEADER


The Director of Sales will build, deliver, grow, and evolve the sales strategy, initiatives, and channels across the entire organization. The ideal candidate is an experienced sales leader with a successful track record of building brands, users, growth across DTC, e-commerce, and retail, executing with internal and external partners (including cross-team functions, outside sales functions, partners, agencies, vendors, events, etc.) and has shown success across a variety of sales disciplines to growth-hack next levels of sales growth. 


ATTACKING THE ROLE

  • Develop, manage, and execute key sales strategies and campaigns targeted at ICP’s, new markets and demographics, greater user bases, and focused groups.

  • Working closely across teams (marketing, operations, etc.) to hyper-focus campaigns through cohesive and driven strategies.

  • Developing deeper connections and rabid-feedback of current users, vendors, and partners.

  • Subject-matter-expertise, strong connections, and becoming the keynote attraction at trade shows, experiences, and sporting events.

  • Close more deals and opportunities to grow the brand, growth-hack the potential of the product, and gain more reach across key user groups.

  • Present, teach, educate, grow, and…SELL! Through sales team members, vendors, partners, ambassadors, instructors, golf pros, and more, you’ll be leading the charge in getting the brand’s message, benefits, and reach out to as many people as possible.

  • Build market plans, monitor industry trends, rely on data, product demand, and opportunity gaps, you’ll navigate the RIGHT ways to grow the brand through the RIGHT channels.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR


Outside of the DNA above, we’re looking for…

  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience

  • Sales strategy and growth with omnichannel brands, with a strong emphasis on high-growth DTC and Retail strategies

  • Experience with an athletic, health and fitness, or similarly aligned physical product brand.


Required Education and Experience

  • 10+ of sales experience, including 5 years as a Director of Sales, Sales Manager, Head of Sales, and/or a role managing other sales professionals.

  • Sales strategy and growth with omnichannel brands, with a strong emphasis on high-growth DTC and Retail strategies

  • Experience with an athletic, health and fitness, or similarly aligned physical product brand

  • Bachelors (required), MBA (preferred)

  • Experience scaling profitable startups


SALARY & BENEFITS

Comp range is $150,000-175,000. Additional opportunities for bonus and equity.
