THE WHAT: 

As a Lead Mitigation Technician, you'll be on the front lines of disaster recovery, leading teams in emergency response and restoration efforts for properties damaged by water, fire, and other disasters. You'll supervise crews, mentor junior technicians, and ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

MUST HAVES:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license with clean record

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs frequently

  • 3-5 years restoration/mitigation experience

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong customer service background

  • Comfort with technology (iPhone, iPad, restoration software)

  • Ability to work in emergency response situations

  • Willingness to work nights/weekends and participate in on-call rotation

  • IICRC certifications preferred (Water Damage Restoration, Applied Structural Drying)

THE WHERE: 

Surrey, BC location. This position requires mobility throughout the Surrey area to respond to emergency situations and oversee multiple job sites.


THE HOW: 

There are three key strategic initiatives that this person will be initially tasked with:

  1. Establishing operational excellence standards for the new Surrey branch through exceptional emergency response times, quality control, and crew performance management

  2. Leading and developing a high-performing team through hands-on training, mentorship, and creating accountability systems for junior technicians as the branch grows

  3. Building and maintaining strategic relationships with insurance partners and commercial clients while representing technical expertise and service excellence in the Surrey market


THE NUTS & BOLTS: 

  • Compensation range is $18.00 - $32.00 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation & sick days, 401(k), company cell phone, and performance bonus opportunities.

THE DAY TO DAY

  • Lead emergency response teams for water, fire, and storm damage situations

  • Supervise and coordinate multiple technicians across job sites

  • Conduct advanced damage assessments and moisture inspections

  • Operate and train others on specialized restoration equipment

  • Oversee controlled demolition and complex restoration procedures

  • Maintain detailed project documentation and crew accountability

  • Lead and mentor junior team members through hands-on training

  • Ensure quality control and safety compliance across all projects

  • Maintain vehicles, equipment, and crew performance standards

  • Provide exceptional customer service while managing client expectations

  • Report progress and challenges to branch management

  • Assist in crew scheduling and resource allocation


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license with clean record

  • Physical ability to lift 75 lbs frequently

  • 3-5 years restoration/mitigation industry experience

  • 2+ years leadership, supervisory, or crew lead experience

  • Customer service experience

  • Technology proficiency (smartphones, tablets, computers)

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to train and develop team members


Preferred Qualifications:

  • IICRC certifications (Water Damage Restoration, Applied Structural Drying)

  • Experience with restoration management software

  • Previous experience as crew chief or team lead

  • Knowledge of insurance claim processes

  • Advanced technical certifications in restoration specialties


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various positions (standing, crouching, kneeling)

  • Capable of working in confined spaces

  • Comfortable working at heights

  • Able to work in potentially hazardous environments with proper safety equipment
