WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As the Mitigation Project Manager, you will be the operational leader for all emergency response projects in the Lehigh Valley market. This role demands someone who can seamlessly blend technical expertise, crew leadership, client communication, and business acumen to deliver exceptional results in high-stress environments.

• You don't just manage projects; you command emergency situations. When the call comes in at 2 AM about a burst pipe flooding a family's home, you're the expert who arrives on scene, quickly assesses the damage, develops the mitigation plan, and begins executing with precision and urgency.

• You are people-first in the highest-pressure situations. You understand that behind every water loss or fire damage claim is a person or family going through one of the worst days of their life. You bring technical expertise AND emotional intelligence, communicating with empathy while maintaining the confidence and authority needed to guide them through the process.

• You're a field general, not a desk manager. You thrive being on-site, directing crews, making real-time decisions, and getting your hands dirty when needed. You know that great mitigation happens in the field, not in a conference room.

• You are obsessed with the technical details that make the difference between success and failure. You live and breathe psychrometric principles, understand moisture migration, and can read building materials like a book. Your IICRC certifications aren't just credentials - they're the foundation of your expertise.

• You bring a "buck stops here" mentality. When insurance adjusters call with questions, when clients need updates, when crews need direction - you're the definitive source of answers. You own the outcome from emergency call to project completion.

• You've read, love, and live by industry principles from sources like the IICRC standards, understand the science behind structural drying, and come to the table with proven methodologies that you've tested and succeeded with in real-world emergency situations.

THE DAY TO DAY

Emergency Response & Project Leadership

• Respond to emergency calls and conduct comprehensive damage assessments on residential and commercial properties

• Develop detailed mitigation plans and execute water extraction, structural drying, fire & smoke remediation, and mold mitigation projects

• Lead and direct field crews daily, ensuring safety protocols and quality standards are maintained without exception

• Manage equipment deployment, moisture monitoring, and psychrometric documentation throughout the drying process

Technology & Documentation Excellence

• Create accurate and detailed Xactimate estimates for all mitigation services

• Maintain meticulous project documentation including photo logs, moisture readings, equipment logs, and progress reports

• Utilize job management software to provide real-time project updates to all stakeholders

• Manage project budgets and resource allocation to ensure profitability

Stakeholder Communication & Relationship Building

• Serve as primary point of contact for property owners, providing clear and compassionate communication throughout the mitigation process

• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance adjusters and other industry professionals

• Coordinate with team members and external partners to ensure seamless project execution

• Foster a positive work environment and mentor junior team members

Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure all work meets or exceeds IICRC standards and industry best practices

• Maintain compliance with OSHA safety requirements and company policies

• Conduct quality inspections and implement corrective actions as needed

• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and certification requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required (Non-Negotiable):

• 3-8 years of direct project management experience in property damage mitigation

• Active IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification

• Demonstrated proficiency with Xactimate software for mitigation estimating

• Proven experience leading and managing field crews

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record

• Ability to pass criminal background check

Preferred:

• IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification

• Additional IICRC certifications (AMRT, FSRT, etc.)

• Experience with large loss mitigation projects ($100K+)

• Proficiency with restoration job management software platforms

• College degree in related field

• Expert-level knowledge of water, fire, and mold mitigation principles and practices

• Strong leadership and crew management abilities

• Exceptional problem-solving skills under pressure

• Outstanding communication skills with ability to work with distressed clients

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

• Physical ability to work in challenging environments and lift/move equipment as needed

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and restoration-specific software

Travel

• This position requires daily travel to job sites throughout the Lehigh Valley region. Emergency response availability outside normal business hours is expected and compensated accordingly.

THE HOW & STRATEGIC INITIATIVES

There are three key strategic initiatives that this person will be initially tasked with:

1) Rapid Response Excellence: Establish and maintain industry-leading emergency response times while ensuring every mitigation project meets or exceeds IICRC standards from day one. This includes developing response protocols, optimizing equipment deployment strategies, and creating quality control systems that deliver consistent results across all project types and sizes.

2) Crew Development & Training: Build and lead a high-performing mitigation team through hands-on mentoring, comprehensive safety training, and technical skill development. You'll create training programs, establish performance standards, and develop the next generation of mitigation experts while ensuring consistent quality and safety across all projects.

3) Client Communication Mastery: Develop and implement communication protocols that transform the typically stressful mitigation experience into one where clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the process. This includes creating client education materials, establishing communication timelines, and building systems that keep all stakeholders aligned and updated in real-time.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Comp range is $77,220 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based incentives.
