Our client is hiring a Construction Project Manager in Surrey, BC. THE WHAT:

As Project Manager, you'll lead reconstruction projects from start to finish - managing budgets, coordinating teams, and most importantly, being a trusted partner to clients during vulnerable times.


This is far more than traditional construction management - it's about restoring both properties and peace of mind with a sense of urgency and exceptional communication.


MUST HAVES:

  • 5+ years construction/restoration AND/OR project management experience

  • Willing to entertain candidates without this experience, if you have a similar background in managing projects, people, tasks

  • Strong leadership abilities and people skills

  • Experience managing subcontractors and vendors

  • Strong communication skills and customer service mindset

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational capabilities

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Valid BC driver's license and ability to be on-call

  • Understanding of insurance restoration and the claims process

  • Problem-solving abilities and proactive approach

  • Experience with project management software and systems

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

THE WHERE:

This role is based in Surrey and requires regular site visits throughout the Lower Mainland. Only candidates within the Greater Vancouver area or willing to relocate will be considered.


THE HOW:

There are four key strategic initiatives this person will be initially tasked with:

  1. Developing and implementing standardized project management processes to ensure consistent quality and timely completion across all restoration projects

  2. Managing multiple stakeholder relationships (property owners, adjusters, reviewers) through proactive communication and building strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors and insurance partners to create a reliable network of trusted partners

  3. Mentoring and developing team members while fostering a culture of safety, excellence and continuous improvement

  4. Drive operational KPIs while maintaining flexibility to solve unique customer challenges


THE NUTS & BOLTS:

Base salary: $80,000 - $120,000 CAD plus bonus structure. Comprehensive benefits including extended health coverage, dental, vision, company vehicle, paid training and certifications, and company RRSP matching.

THE DAY TO DAY

As a Project Manager, you'll orchestrate restoration projects from initial assessment to final walkthrough:


Project Leadership

  • Lead and manage reconstruction projects from start to finish

  • Create detailed work orders and project timelines

  • Monitor job sites for safety, quality, and training opportunities

  • Provide weekly updates on all active projects

  • Review and align estimates with project budgets


Team & Resource Management

  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and vendors

  • Manage on-site foremen and crews

  • Order and track materials

  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships


Client Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and insurance carriers

  • Provide regular project updates and timeline communications

  • Navigate sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism

  • Ensure exceptional customer experience throughout the restoration process


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of construction/restoration project management experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Valid BC driver's license with clean driving record

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven track record in successful project completion and customer service

  • Ability to work in BC's varied weather conditions

  • Ability to pass background check and maintain satisfactory record

  • Proficiency with project management and construction software

  • IICRC certifications (or ability to obtain)

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities

  • Experience managing subcontractors and vendors

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Construction and Construction Management experience

  • Experience with Xactimate software

  • IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT)

  • Experience in insurance restoration


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Capable of lifting/moving up to 25 pounds

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions

  

SALARY & BENEFITS

Base salary: $80,000 - $120,000 CAD plus bonus and performance structure.
