THE WHO:

  • Our client is a trusted leader in the restoration industry, helping homeowners and businesses restore their properties - and peace of mind - after unexpected damage from water, fire, mold, storms, and other disasters.

  • They serve one of the most active restoration markets in the country across NY/NJ.

THE WHAT:

  • You'll be the critical bridge between field reality and claim outcomes - taking documented conditions from job sites and translating them into accurate, compliant estimates that win approvals, protect profitability, and reduce supplements.

MUST HAVES:

  • Strong working proficiency in Xactimate is required.

  • We need someone with excellent written communication, sharp attention to detail, and comfort with technology.

  • Familiarity with Symbility is preferred, along with restoration/reconstruction estimating experience and knowledge of TPA/carrier standards.

THE WHERE:

  • Office-based position serving the New York and New Jersey markets, with occasional job-site inspections as needed to improve scoping accuracy.

THE HOW:

There are three key strategic initiatives that this person will be initially tasked with:

  • Scope Accuracy & Compliance: Master the art of translating field documentation (DocuSketch scans, photos, measurements) into clear, defensible estimates that meet carrier standards and support fast approvals.

  • Margin Protection & Production Support: Work collaboratively with Project Managers and Crew Chiefs to identify scope gaps early, maintain pricing discipline, and escalate issues before they impact production or collections.

  • Stakeholder Communication Excellence: Build professional relationships with adjusters and stakeholders to support approvals, resolve scope questions, and move files toward faster closeout while protecting appropriate scope capture.

THE NUTS & BOLTS:

  • Base salary ($75-85K) plus commissions/incentives tied to profit, production and overall performance.

THE COMPANY & TEAM

Our client operates in one of the most dynamic restoration markets in the country. When disaster strikes - whether it's a burst pipe flooding a Manhattan apartment or storm damage to a New Jersey warehouse - property owners need someone they can trust to restore not just their property, but their peace of mind.

This franchise operates with an entrepreneurial spirit where precision and collaboration drive results. You'll work alongside Project Managers, Crew Chiefs, and field teams who understand that accurate estimating is the foundation of every successful restoration project.

YOUR DNA

  • You are a precision-focused professional who thrives on turning complex field conditions into clear, defensible estimates. You understand that every line item you write impacts both project success and company profitability.

  • You bring technical mastery combined with business acumen. You're not just documenting what happened - you're strategically positioning each project for approval, profitability, and smooth execution.

  • You have exceptional attention to detail and take pride in creating estimates that are bulletproof under scrutiny. You understand that carriers and TPAs are looking for any reason to reduce scope, and you build your estimates to withstand that pressure.

  • You're a collaborative team player who works seamlessly with Project Managers and field teams. You know that great estimates require input from multiple sources, and you're skilled at translating field observations into technical documentation.

  • You're proactive about identifying issues before they become problems. You spot scope gaps, pricing inconsistencies, and potential compliance issues early, giving the team time to address them properly.

  • You thrive in fast-paced environments where accuracy and speed both matter. You can manage multiple active estimates while maintaining the quality standards that protect margins and support approvals.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

As the Senior Estimator, you'll be the technical expert who ensures every restoration project is properly scoped, accurately priced, and positioned for success with carriers and TPAs.

  • Maintain pricing discipline and margin awareness; identify scope gaps early and escalate issues before they impact production or collections

  • Communicate with adjusters and stakeholders as needed to support approvals, resolve scope questions, and move files toward faster closeout

  • Conduct occasional job-site inspections across NYC and Northeast NJ to improve scoping accuracy and support field teams

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure estimates align with production capabilities and timeline requirements

Required Experience:

  • Strong working proficiency in Xactimate (non-negotiable)

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Sharp attention to detail and accuracy

  • Comfort with technology and estimating tools

  • Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers and field teams

Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to translate field conditions into technical documentation

  • Professional communication with carriers and adjusters

  • Proactive issue identification and escalation

  • Collaborative mindset with internal teams
