Our client, one of the largest restoration and reconstruction franchises in the DC metro area, is seeking a Director of Emergency Services to lead their mitigation division. A leading restoration and reconstruction leader serving the Washington D.C. metro area (excluding Baltimore), operating as one of the largest branches within a network of over 370 locations across North America.
With a team of 50+ professionals, they've built their reputation on excellence in both residential and commercial restoration services.
THE WHAT:
You will lead the emergency services division, overseeing three key verticals: contents restoration, residential emergency services, and commercial emergency services.
Currently operating at a 70/30 residential/commercial split, this role will be crucial in driving the strategic growth toward a more balanced portfolio.
MUST HAVES:
Strong P&L management and job accounting expertise
Experience with industry software (Dash/CoreLogic, Xactimate)
IICRC designations preferred
Local to the DC metro area (traffic and cost of living make relocation challenging)

Background in both residential and commercial restoration

THE WHERE:

Hybrid work model with approximately 3 days in office required, plus 24/7 on-call availability as needed.
THE HOW: Three key strategic initiatives this person will be initially tasked with:
Recruitment Enhancement: Build stronger capabilities for recruiting both technicians and sub-trades in a competitive market
Commercial Division Growth: Develop and strengthen the commercial emergency services division to help achieve the company's goal of increasing commercial business from 30% to 50%
Team Integration & Development: Maintain and strengthen the existing team structure while building upon the established foundation
THE NUTS & BOLTS:
Base salary of $110,000-$120,000 with potential for strong bonus based on volume and margin (higher base possible for exceptional candidates).

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
As Director of Emergency Services, you will oversee three key verticals: contents restoration, residential emergency services, and commercial emergency services. This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, requiring someone who can balance P&L management with team development and customer service.
The Day to Day:
Lead and develop teams across all three service verticals
Drive profitability through analysis of sales and margin
Maintain relationships with insurance carriers and third-party administrators
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
Resolve escalated customer service matters
Coordinate between departments and ensure proper communication
Participate in leadership meetings and financial reviews
Oversee recruitment and development of both technicians and sub-trades

This position requires a leader who can:
Manage a 24/7/365 emergency response operation
Balance the demands of residential and commercial clients
Drive growth in the commercial sector while maintaining residential excellence
Build and maintain strong teams in a challenging labor market
Implement and optimize operational processes
Ensure high standards of customer service and technical excellence
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years of management experience in restoration or construction
Strong understanding of P&L management and job accounting
Experience with industry software (Dash/CoreLogic, Xactimate)
IICRC designations preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
PREFERRED:
Commercial restoration experience
Strong accounting/business background
Experience managing teams in a franchise or multi-location environment
Track record of growing
